About the Area

Hidden among rolling hills and untouched wilderness; embraced by the Columbia River and enveloped by the majestic Selkirk and Monashee Mountain Ranges lie the beautiful communities of Trail, Rossland, Warfield, Montrose and Fruitvale.

Trail is home to 8,000 people that live and work in and around our City. This "Home of Champions," was established in 1895 when a small smelter operation was constructed to service the mines in Rossland. Today, the operation called "COMINCO" is the home of the world's largest lead and zinc smelter.

Steeply terraced homes and bright gardens are tucked away among the winding streets of "Little Italy" and are a testament to the Italian Immigrants who came to this country to build the railway's in the 1900's and remained. Today new generations play an integral role in our City Heritage. Fantastic shopping, dining and state of the art recreation facilities are just a part of what this progressive city has to offer.
